Well, first of all the Watergate scandal was a political scandal that occurred in the early 1970's,followed by a break-in by five men from the DNC headquarters in Washington. President Richard Nixon and his administration attempted to cover it up. Nixon as the first president to visit the soviet union and he engaged in intense negotiations with the Soviet Union. The Watergate Scandal changed everybody's views on President Richard Nixon, forcing him to resign on August 9, 1974.
