=4x+3(2x -1) - 4
multiply 3 by all in parentheses first
=4x + (3*2x) + (3*-2) - 4
=4x + 6x - 6 - 4
combine like terms
=10x - 10

To simplify further, you can factor out 10 from each term:
= 10(x - 1)

ANSWER: 10x-10 OR 10(x-1) depending on how far the teacher's answer is simplified

Hope this helps! :)
