When the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, it blocks the light of the Sun to reach the moon and hence eclipses it.

Lunar eclipse is a celestial event when the Sun, the Earth and the Moon align in the same line. The Earth blocks the light of the Sun to reach the moon. we are not able to see the moon as it is unable to reflect sun's light to us. Thus, eclipsing the moon.
