For this case we have the following expression:
 [tex] 2 x - 5y + 3 + x [/tex]
 Before simplifying we have 4 terms in the expression:
 Two terms of the variable x.
 One Term of the variable y.
 One term constant.
 After simplifying we have:
 [tex] 3x - 5y + 3 [/tex]
 Only three terms:
 One Term of the variable x.
 One Term of the variable y.
 One term constant.
