gasoline will not dissolve in water because gasoline has more density then the water

Water is a polar molecule. The general solubility rule is that "like dissolves like", meaning polar dissolves polar and non-polar dissolves non-polar. Gas is not polar therfore cannot be dissoled by water. :)
