determine the momentum of a 40 kg freshman moving southward at 2m/s

Momentum = (mass) x (velocity)

Velocity = 2 m/s south


Momentum =
(40 kg) x (2 m/s south) =  80 kg-m/s south

(vectors are written in bold type
