Civilisations need:
-water access (for drinking, irrigation and transport): so proximity of rivers, a great number of rivers would be beneficial (shores are not soo good, as the seas are too salty to drink)
- climate that allows to produce food (warm, semi-humid climate is best)
-also good mineral sources are good (coal, stone) - for building
