Open absolute value symbol
2x - 10 = 3x
OR
2x - 10 = -3x

x = -10
OR
x = 2

Plug them in...
|2(-10) - 10| = -3(-10)
30 = 30
x = -10 is not the extraneous solution.

|2(2) - 10| = -3(2)
6 ≠ -6
x=2 is the extraneous solution.
