Nuclear equation for the fusion of two Hâ’2 atoms to form Heâ’3 and one neutron would be: 2/1H + 2/1H --> 3/2He + 1/0n Deuterium, a heavy isotope of hydrogen is used. 2/1H -- 2 is the mass number and 1 is the atomic number.
