Use the distributive property to write an expression equivalent to 5 Times (3+4)

The distributive property states:

[tex]a(b+c) = ab + ac[/tex]

Using that we get:

[tex]5\times (3+4)\\5(3+4) \\5(3) + 5(4)\\15 + 20\\35[/tex]

You could also do it like:
[tex]5(3+4)\\5(7)\\35[/tex]

So an expression that is equivalent to 5(3+4) is:

[tex]7(2+3)[/tex]

That is your answer. It gets you the same final answer of 35.
