K is between J and L.

So we can write JK + KL = JL
As given JK = 6x , KL = 3x and JL = 27
[tex]6x + 3x = 27[/tex]

Now we can combine 6x and 3x.

[tex]9x = 27[/tex]

On dividing both sides by 9.

[tex] \frac{9x}{9} = \frac{27}{9} [/tex]

[tex]x = 3[/tex].

So the value of JK = 6*3 = 18

              value of KL = 3*3 = 9
