P = 2(L + W)
P = 48
L = 3W

48 = 2(3W + W)
48 = 2(4W)
48 = 8W
48/8 = W
6 = W....so the width is 6

L = 3W
L = 3(6)
L = 18....and the length is 18

A = L * W
A = 18 * 6
A = 108 <====and the area is 108
