By partitioning the segment into a ratio of 1:1 means to equally divide that segment into 2.

We can calculate for the coordinates of point P by taking the average of the difference of point A and point B.

x axis of point P = (13 + 5) / 2

x axis of point P = 18 / 2

x axis of point P = 9

 

y axis of point P = (1 + 3) / 2

y axis of point P = 4 / 2

y axis of point P = 2

 

Therefore the coordinates of point P is (9, 2).
