Table sugar solution will test negative for reducing sugars. Table sugar also known as sucrose is a combination of glucose and fructose joined together by glycosidic bonds in such a way that glucose is prevented from isomerizing to aldehyde and fructose is hindered from forming its ketone form, which means that the sugar can not be reduced to other forms.
