It is 2.625 because you divide 5 by 8 and equals 0.625 an the whole number stays the same.

2.625 because 8 being the denominator makes the decimal .125 per fraction what I mean is 1/8 = .125 2/8 = .250 so 5/8 would make .625 so the answer is 2.625
