Solving for d means putting d by itself on the left side of the equation.  Solve as if you had numbers.  Let's pretend that b=5 and c=2.  5=2*d Divide by 2 to isolate the d.  5/2=d  If we put the letters back in, b/c=d or d=b/c.  The answer is C.
