Mars is known as red planet. It is the fourth planet from sun and second smallest planet after Mercury. It has two moons- Phobos and Deimos. Its surface is composed of iron oxide and that is why it appears reddish when viewed from telescope. The appearance is interrupted by some permanent dark regions that changes intensity. These are Albedo features visble on Mars.
