California and Idaho are the areas on the map which are most likely to suffer intense droughts.

What is Drought?

This is a period of prolonged dry climate as a result of the absence of precipitation(rainfall).

The areas which have droughts usually have less plant and animal life present on the area. California and Idaho are therefore the most appropriate choice.
