The number of girls in the class: x
The number of boys in the class: x+7

girls + boys = 23
x + x + 7 = 23 |-7
2x = 16 |:2
x = 8

The number of girls in the class: x = [tex]\boxed{8}[/tex]
The number of boys in the class: x+7=8+7=
=[tex]\boxed{15}[/tex]
