As an array/module of cells gets larger in surface area, what happens to the amount of electricity that it can produce?

In a photovoltaic module, as the number of cells gets higher occupying a single module, its electricity produced would more likely increases as its surface area increases. Furthermore, this special kind of cells converts light energy to electrical energy in a form of a direct current which could be converted to AC for electrical consumption.
