solve the equation we get,

x = 33/22
x = 1.5
substitute this value in other equation to get y
2x + 4y = 1
2(1.5) + 4y = 1
3 + 4y = 1
4y = 1-3
4y = -2
y = -2/4
y = -0.5
so answer is x = 1.5 and y = -0.5
