a = 3, b = 4, and c = 2

a + b = c

3 + 4 = 2

3a + 4b = 2c
       -4     -4
     3a = -6c
      3       3
       a = -2

3a + 4b = 2c
-3             -3
      4b = -1c
        4     4

a = 2c/3 - 4b/3
