Thomas Paine believed that reconciliation were not possible, because Britain won't see colonies as their equals, but as their pawns, that's why they didn't care about all their policies which attempted against our freedom and life stabilisation.

Even-though, Britain saw America as a minor society. With the absence of equality, reconciliation were not possible, it was just a utopia.
