Any line that has a slope of 5 is parallel to the above given line. Using the standard slope-intercept form of the straight line equation, the equation is in the form of

y = 5x + b

where b = any constant.

<< work out the gradient of the line: y+2x =6 >>

Rewriting the above in the standard slope-intercept form of the straight line equation,

y = -2x + 6

hence the gradient (or the slope) is -2.

Hope this helps.
