Na : Na₂O

20g : x (mass of sodium oxide, that we have to find)

Find the Mr of Sodium oxide and sodium.

Mr of Na = 23

Mr of Na₂O = (23 × 2) + 16 = 62

      Na : Na₂O

     20g : x

 23 × 4 : 62 × 2

Cross multiply.

20 × 62× 2 = 23 × 4 × x

2480 = 92x

x = 1240 ÷ 23

x = 26.96g
