The first thanksgiving was when christopher comlumbus claimed to be the "first" to discover america. He then had a feast with some of the Native Ameicans which he thought were "Indians".
It was in 1621 when the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag shared what they called "an autumn harvest feast" that is known today as the first Thanksgiving celebrations in these colonies.
