Initial velocity of the cat (u) = 0 m/s [it starts from rest]

Final velocity of the cat (v) = 10 m/s

Time (t) = 2 sec

Let the acceleration of the cat be a m/s^2

By using the equation,

a = v-u/t, we get

a = 10-0/2

or, a = 10/2 = 5

The acceleration of the cat is 5 m/s^2.
