Given two points (x₁,y₁) and (x₂,y₂) the midpoint will be:
M=((x₁+x₂)/2 , (y₁+y₂)/2)

We have two points K(3,5) and L (-5,-6), therefore, the midpoint will be:
M=((3-5)/2 , (5-6)/2)=(-1 , -1/2)=(-1, -0.5)

Answer: the midpoint will be M(-1 , -0.5)
