Equation,

[tex]y - y1 = m(x - x1)[/tex]

Plugging in our values,

[tex]x1 = - 2, \: y1 = 4, \: m = 3[/tex]

[tex]y - 4 = 3(x - ( - 2))[/tex]

[tex]y - 4 = 3(x + 2)[/tex]

So the equation is,

[tex]y - 4 = 3(x + 2)[/tex]
