Calculate the molarity of a 17g sample of NaCl dissolved in H2O if the total solution is 700 mL.

Convert grams of NaCl to moles first.

17 g / 58.44 g/mol = 0.29 mol NaCl

Divide moles by L of water.

0.29 mol / 0.700 L = 0.41 M NaCl
