To calculate the percentage of thymine we need to use Chargaff's rule:

Chargaff's rules state that the amount of guanine should be equal to cytosine and the amount of adenine should be equal to thymine

A+G=T+C

A=T

C=G

100%-(2x12)=2T

T=(100%-24%)/2

T=38%
