Answer:the Length is 22.5 inches, and width is 7.5 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1

The perimeter of the rectangle is given as

 P = 2L + 2W

 We were given tha length is 3 times the width,

so L = 3 W

 Replacing L by 3W in the equation of the perimeter becomes

Step 2

 P = 2L + 2W

2(3W) + 2W = 60

6W + 2W = 60

8W =60

 W = 60 /8

W = 7.5

Snce  L = 3W

L= 3 (7.5)

L = 22.5

Therefore the Length is 22.5 inches, and width is 7.5 inches.
