All you do is separate the bracket and multiple everything inside the bracket by the number to its let.

That is 7s - 42 -2
Now do -42 - 2
And you get 7s - 44

The answer should be 7s + -44 or 7s - 44

7(s - 6) - 2 ----> distribute the 7 to both the s and -6
7s - 42 - 2
7s - 44

Hope this helps!
