Sacrifice was a relogious activity in Mayan culture, though they did not have human sacrifices as much as the Aztecs.

Actually sacrifice was for the pleasure to gods to ensure that the gods was not angry with them and they believed if the gods were not angry with them then they will have a better life with better wealth health and strength
