How do you solve X divided by 7 + X equals 8?

Answer: x = - 8

Step-by-step explanation:

[tex]\frac{x}{7+x}[/tex] = 8

cross multiplying , we have

8 ( 7 + x) = x

Expanding the Left  Hand Side of the equation , we have :

56 + 8x = x collecting the like terms , we have

56 = x - 8x

56 = -7x

dividing through by - 7 we have :

- 8 = x  

Therefore :

x = -8
