Answer:

The Seige of Vicksburg played a major role in the Civil War in America. The Seige of Vicksburg was an important victory for Union because it allowed them to control over the Mississippi River. The Mississippi River played a significant role for the South because it was the last port on the river held by them. Through this river, they supplied goods to Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. By capturing Vicksburg, Union ended the trade, and fortifications, which ultimately weakened the South.
