slope is found by having your rise over your run or the difference between the two points on the y axis divided by the difference between the x axis.

the difference between -1 and 5 =6

the difference between 0 and 1 =1

this would be 6/1 or 6

Hope this helps.

The fromula of a slope:

[tex]m=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

We have the points (1, 5) and (0, -1). Substitute:

[tex]m=\dfrac{-1-5}{0-1}=\dfrac{-6}{-1}=6[/tex]

Answer: The slope is 6.
