The temperature started at 89°F. If the temperature went up 6°F and then down 12°F, whats is the temperature difference relative to the high temperature?

89 degrees plus 6, minus 12, equals 83.  This means that the temperature change would be 89 - 83, which equals 6.  There is a 6 degree temperature change.
