The territory was expanded south into Indian Reserve and included Ontario, parts of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

The Quebec Act of 1774 was an act that settled the procedures of governance in the Province of Quebec, at that time known as British North America. This was a big change because before the act there was an only a temporary government.
