£21 and £56

sum the parts of the ratio 3 + 8 = 11

divide £77 by 11 to find 1 part of the ratio

[tex]\frac{77}{11}[/tex] = £7 ← 1 part of the ratio

3 parts = 3 × 7 = £21

8 parts = 8 × 7 = £56
