y=-3x-1

y = mx + b where m = slope and b = y intercept

In this case,

slope =  -3

x-intercept:

-3x - 1 = 0

3x = -1

x = -1/3

So

x intercept = (-1/3 , 0)

y-intercept = (0,-1)

slope = -3

y intercept = -1

x intercept

y=0 solve for x

0=-3x -1

add 1 to each side

1 = -3x

divide by -3

-1/3 = x

x intercept = -1/3
