12(5-m) = 7 -(1+3m)    distribute

60-12m = 7 -1-3m   combine like terms

60 - 12m = 6 -3m          add 12m to both sides

60 = 6 + 9m                   subtract 6 from both side

54 = 9m                  divide by 9

6 = m
