First, we combine our like terms.  To do this, we must move 7 across to the other side using subtraction.  Take away 7 from both sides, and now you have -2k = -10.  Then we divide the -2 from both sides.  -10/-2 = 5.  So the answer is K=5.  Hope this helped!
