from the molecular formula of CH₄ , we see that

one molecule of CH₄ contains 1 atom of carbon  and 4 atoms of hydrogen .

in the same way , if we have 1 mole of CH₄  , it will contain 1 mole of carbon and 4 moles of hydrogen

similarly , if we have 5 moles of CH₄  , it will contain 5 x 1 mole of carbon and 4 x 5 moles of hydrogen

so in 5 moles of CH₄ , we have 5 moles of carbon
