During aerobic cellular respiration, food molecules are broken down from sugar molecules to energy molecules known as ATP, oxygen is required. During aerobic cellular respiration 38 molecules of ATP formed. This process can be divided into glycolysis, the citric acid cycle, and the electron transport chain.
